The community has parks, and a swimming pool and is close to the golf course. There is plenty to do in this sunny town, all within 10 mins drive, including swimming, snorkeling, diving, hiking, and so much more. Depending on the seasons, you could catch sightings of whales, dolphins, and turtles in the ocean. Waianae is 40 minutes from the airport (HNL), 45 minutes from the heart of Waikiki, and an hour from the North Shore. It’s the perfect place to relax after a day of exploration. QUIET TIME: This is in a gated residential community, please be respectful of our neighbors, no parties, no events, or large gatherings. HOA requires quiet hours 9:00 pm - 8:00 am.

While the houses were clean and well furnished, we did have a few issues with our stay: because we stayed after severe weather, the outdoor fabric furniture was soaked, covered in mildew, and unusable. One of our houses had tiny caterpillars all over the home with a small colony located outside the slider door. The reservation was for 2 homes - and while they technically were "close" they were not neighbors... a 2 block walk. Which was fine with older kids but could have been an issue with smaller kids. But the community pool was lovely. Game rooms were a hit. Coffee and filters provided. Beds were comfortable. Lots of sleeping options for our families. One other issue was the check in process - the listing had one address, the guard at the gate corrected us to another address, but the check in instructions had entry code information for another address/property on the reservation. It was a little confusing for our group to enter the home.

We rented two houses for our bigger group. They were a short walk away from each other in a beautiful gated community on west coast of Oahu about an hour from Honolulu. The houses were both very nice and comfortable and very clean with beautiful views outside. There were beautiful uncrowded beaches within a couple miles of the community. Driving up from Honolulu along the coast, there are numerous tent camps on the beaches but those aren’t the beaches nearest the community which were great although the currents can be pretty strong there so always check before swimming out. Our 9 and 12 yr old grandsons did fine. Waves will knock over smaller kids though so be careful. We enjoyed our stay!
